Moss was born on the 13th of February, 1977. He is an American footballer. He
was a player in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons , including
the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans,
and the San Francisco 49ers. Widely regarded as the greatest wide receiver of
all-time along with Jerry Rice, he holds the NFL single-season touchdown
reception record (23 in 2007) as well as the NFL single-season record for touchdown
receptions for rookies (17 in 1998) and is ranked second on the NFL all-time
regular season touchdown reception list, with 156. Moss was well-known for his
skill in securing contested catches and the word "mossed" has been
incorporated into football's lexicon. Following his professional football
career and broadcasting, he began working as a studio analyst at ESPN for the
Sunday NFL Countdown program and Monday Night Countdown. Moss was a Rand, West
Virginia native. He attended DuPont High School, one of two schools later
consolidated into Riverside High School, where he excelled in football,
basketball baseball, track and field. Randy was also a member of the school's
debate club. Moss helped lead the DuPont Panthers football team to two
consecutive state championships in 1992 and 1993. Moss was a top wide receiver.
He also was a free safety, and punt return. He won the Kennedy Award for West
Virginia Football Player's of the Year in the year 1994. Parade magazine named
him to their annual All-American high school football team in 1995 and in 2009,
named him one of the 50 greatest football players from high school of all time.
